1. DIY Floral Acrylic Monogram

What you’ll need:

  • Clear acrylic letter
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Poly Foam Brush
  • Decoupage
  • X-Acto knife
  • Scissors

 

Instructions:

  1. Begin with tracing the edge of the monogram on the scrapbook paper.
  2. Cut out the shape of the monogram using a pair of scissors.
  3. Use alcohol wipes to clean the back of the monogram to ensure there is no any dust or fingerprints.
  4. Once you’ve cleaned the back of the monogram, apply a thin layer of decoupage using a poly foam brush.
  5. Then, quickly place the paper monogram onto the decoupage. Make sure that it is facing down the decoupage and press down firmly to prevent any air bubbles and wrinkles.
  6. Cut off the excess paper at the edge of the acrylic monogram with X-Acto knife and that’s it!

What you’ll need:

  • Wooden egg holders
  • Paint brush
  • Colorful paint as preferred
  • Plants
  • Soil

Instructions:

  1. Start with coating the wooden egg holders with the white paint. This step is to ensure the brighter color will be more visible once painted atop the white paint.
  2. Once the white paint is dried, paint your desired color on the egg holder using a paint brush. Wait for it to dry completely.
  3. Add soil into the empty egg holder, then place the plant into the egg holder with one hand while filling the pot with soil using another hand. Keep adding soil until the egg holder is full!

What you’ll need:

  • Faux flowers with stem
  • Washi tape as preferred
  • Scissors

 Instructions:

  1. Begin with cutting excess leaves and trim to desired lengths. You can use different lengths so that flowers would be different in height next to each row.
  2. Once you’ve done prepping the faux flowers, measure the distance between each row of flowers and mark the distance using a pencil.
  3. Now, start from the top of the wall and begin taping each flowers using a narrow ‘x’ design. This is to ensure that flowers are attached securely with a stable strength.
  4. After completed attaching one row, you may move on to another row using the same technique, until the whole wall is fully attached with flowers.

4. DIY Spring-inspired Striped Jars

What you’ll need: 

  • Mason Jars
  • Painters tape
  • Chalky finish paints
  • Decor creme wax
  • Foam brushes
  • Sandpaper

Instructions: 

  1. First, coat each mason jars with a few layers of the white chalky finish paint to ensure an opaque finish. Be sure to wait for the paint to dry completely before applying the next coat.
  2. Then, create stripes with painters tape. Make sure to press down the tape firmly so the paint gets clean lines.
  3. Now, start painting the jar with your preferred color and let dry. You have to paint at least two layers so that the color is more visible and even.
  4. Once the mason jar is completely dry, use sandpaper and carefully rub the raised areas to create a distressed effect.
  5. Next, apply a thin coat of creme wax with a clean foam brush to create a satin finish. Voila! You can use these pretty spring-inspired striped jars as a pencil holder or flower vase.

5. DIY Floral Monogram

What you’ll need: 

  • Poultry netting/chicken wire
  • Wire cutter
  • Floral foam
  • Assorted artificial flowers
  • Floral pins
  • Floral wire
  • Floral foam knife

Instructions:

  1. Firstly, draw out the alphabet of the monogram you want it to be on a piece of paper or cardboard.
  2. Then, cut the floral foam into pieces and fill the monogram. It is okay if there are small gaps.
  3. Join the floral foam pieces together with floral pins.
  4. Place the poultry netting on top of the letter and attach it in a few spots with floral pins.
  5. Cut the outline of the letter with a wire cutter, and leave a couple of inches larger than the monogram so it can be folded around the foam.
  6. Fold the excess poultry netting around the foam, then, wrap the poultry netting with the floral wire. This step is to ensure that the poultry netting is secure in place with great stability.
  7. Once you’ve done wrapping the entire monogram with floral wire, it’s time to add flowers to it! Before we start placing the flowers, make sure that the stems are very short.
  8. Keep adding the flowers until it fills up the monogram. Finally, find a perfect place to hang your monogram and you’re done!

 6. DIY Floral Chandelier

What you’ll need:

  • Silk flowers of your choice
  • A wooden embroidery hoop
  • 15-20 yards of assorted ribbon
  • 1-2 yards of lace trim
  • Metal D-ring or plastic ring
  • Flower scissors
  • Glue gun
  • Scissors

Instructions: 

  1. Firstly, cut 2 3 yard lengths of ribbon. Fold the ribbons in half and thread them through the metal D-ring. This will create a small loop at the end. Pull the ends of the ribbon through the small loop you’ve created. Now, you should have 4 even strands of ribbon anchored by the D-ring.
  2. Use a ruler to measure about 18 inches down from the D-ring and mark it with a pencil.
  3. Next, remove the outer ring of the wooden embroidery hoop. Divide the wooden embroidery hoop into four equal spots, and mark it with a pen.
  4. Now, line one of the ribbon strands with one of the embroidery hoop spot. Make sure the ribbon strand with marking is aligned with the embroidery hoop spot. Then, attach the ribbon to the inside of the embroidery hoop with hot glue gun.
  5. Next, use hot glue gun to mark a ‘V’ shape to the outer part of the embroidery hoop. Wrap the ribbon around the embroidery hoop to hold it in place with great stability.
  6. Repeat step 4 and step 5 on other three sides.
  7. Once you’ve done constructing the base of the chandelier, it’s time to add flowers to it! Trim the flowers into a shorter stem and tie them to the end of the 4 ribbon strands.
  8. Then, use different lengths of assorted ribbons to tie the rest of the flowers to the embroidery hoop. Use the similar technique of gluing the first 4 strands to attach the ribbons to the embroidery hoop.
  9. After done filling up the entire embroidery hoop, make sure the floral chandelier is balanced.
  10. Lastly, glue the lace trim to the outside of the hoop to create a more sophisticated look. Voila! That’s it!
