How to: Post Like A Diva for #OOTD Photos

Today, I’ve decided to jump onto the bandwagon of – “how to post for OOTD photos” as it is a highly requested topic on youtube and social medias.

Yes, taking selfie is easy as it doesn’t require much skill and everyone can take including your granny and niece.

However, taking and posing for OOTD picture like a fashion model is though!

Thus, today I’ve put together some pro tips on how to post like a diva and some cool tips on how to take the perfect #OOTD shot!

Trust me, you’re gonna be the next top model (smize)!

Additional Pro Tips for Taking A Great #OOTD

1. Make sure the photo is taken as low as possible!

Just make your family or friends who help you take your ootd shot squat or take the camera in a lower position as it will definitely elongate your figure!

If you want to have longer legs –> take pic from LOWER ANGLE!

2. Make sure your background is uncluttered.

If you’re taking your ootd photos with your phone, it is better to find a plain solid color wall or slightly texture wall.

This is to ensure your outfit details pop.

If you’re using a professional camera, then its alright if your background is clutter as you can blur em out!

P.s if you’re a minimalist or have a white theme instagram feed, a white crisp wall is definitely your ideal location.

3. Utilise your best friend – NATURAL LIGHTING.

If you’re planning to shoot your ootd outdoors, lighting is EVERYTHING!

I’ll advice you to take your ootd in the mid morning or mid afternoon when you have the sufficient light to work with but it won’t be too strong.

Try not to shoot with the bright direct sunlight as you’ll find it difficult to avoid over exposed images.

Soft light can make things look flatter and allows you to worry less bout losing detail in bright highlights or dark shadows.

Whereas, if you’re workin’ indoor, you’ll want as much natural light to be entering the room as possible.

4. Make sure all the lines in the photo are skewed straight!

While the photo is taken make sure all the lines are skewed straight horizontally or vertically.

You can always double check it while you’re editing.

5. Know your angle!

Everyone has their favourite angle, try to understand your best angel by taking more photos.

When you find the most flattering angle, all your photos will look freakin’ AMAZING!

Without further do, let’s start posing! (Call me Tyra Banks XD)

1. The Walking Shot

Fake walking shot is extremely common and popular among fashion elites.

It creates that natural kind of candid shot as if you’ve been photographed unintentionally

However, it can be a bit trickier as the photos might turn out blurry.

This can be remedied by walking at a slower pace or just walk front and backward until you get the perfect shot.

2. Play With Your Hair / Pretend to Look Something

If you’re still a newbie in taking #ootd shots and felt totally awkward to fake walking in front of your friends or family.

Chill, I’ve got you covered.

All you need is stand and play with your hair, tucking it behind your ear, or even pretend to look something.

This will create that perfect natural OOTD shot! (pretty easy isn’t it)

4. Creating that Geometric Angle

When you create that geometric angle in your pose, it’ll immediately give you a slender figure effect.

Regardless you’re standing, sitting or lying down, the geometric angle will make you look even more flattering!
